Afternoon Tea by Mary Cassatt |
We see the focus of TAKE UP AND READ as literature-based homeschooling. It is part of our philosophy that home-educating our children does not just mean that they learn at home during set “school hours,” but that we have a lifestyle of learning. Every moment of every day is filled with the possibilities of learning. This can be academic learning, life skills & lessons, character development, enrichment....the list is endless. One of the main goals in our homeschooling is to raise well-rounded adults. So, while literature is the center of our teaching and learning, all other areas of life will be embraced as well.

We have a few other ideas in mind, too. As both of us have written numerous articles in the past for various resources, we plan to update and re-post many of those essays. We would like to include prayer requests for our readers. Having “regular features” is a probability. Look for the occasional “guest post.”
This is a “living” blog. We will be listening to the prompts of the Holy Ghost and prayerfully do our best to follow the roads He leads us down, as we develop TUAR.
While we have lovely ideas and plans for TAKE UP AND READ, and hope to publish frequently, we will be living the life about which we are writing......and sometimes that gets in the way of getting the words to the keyboard. Please bear with us, and pray for us!
Prayerfully yours,
Willa & Chari
As a final thought, we would like to add....
Disclaimer: We are not here to “convert” you to our way of homeschooling…but only to share our journey and hopefully to inspire you. Our way of homeschooling is just one example of how to navigate our children’s education. We are not experts. This is a true story. It is our perspective of our own families’ homeschool journey….…
