Homeschooling Through High School -- a Carnival!

Some time ago, Melissa raised a question about the Silence of Older Homeschooling Moms.

There seems to be a lot of interest in homeschooling past the grade school years, but comparatively little sharing of what it involves in particular family lives.   As Angela mentioned, it seems harder to share details of homeschooling past the Show and Tell years.

When we started this blog, it was partly because we had given a talk on homeschooling through the high school years, and we had put together way more material than we could use in a single evening.

Other moms of older children also have much to share.   In response to this, Erin at Seven Little Australians and several other homeschool moms have put together a Homeschool High School Carnival

The first issue is scheduled for this Monday, September 3rd.

You can find a list of suggested (but optional) topics here

Guidelines for submitting a post can be found here

The deadline for this month is tomorrow, Friday the 31st, Greenwich time, but if that is too short notice, you are welcome to submit anyway, and your post will be used in the October issue.   You are also welcome to contribute simply by commenting on other posts.   The more experience (and questions!) shared, the better it will be!

Please join Erin as your hostess for this Monday on this topic

The Wide View....  How does your family’s ‘big picture’/goals/educational philosophy affect/guide your planning and translate into what your highschoolers do on a daily/weekly basis?  Do you generalise or specialise?

Blessings,

Chari and Willa
