I'm reeading "I was a Bad Kid: True Tales of a Deceptive Child" by Ryan Zimmerman.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds fascinating. Do you own it...so you can led it to me? ;)
DeleteOK, this must be the month to read The Trapp Family :)
ReplyDeleteMost definitely meant to be! How is it going? Are you going to be done by the end of February?
DeleteLol I have that book half read on my shelf ! but I'm going to look up a book that isn't the word The and get back to You ☺
ReplyDeleteI finished up Yeats's Mythologies this past weekend !
Okay I found the book Chari , it is Three Came home by Agnes Newton Keith !
ReplyDeleteAre you getting some reading in, Roxie? Congrats on finishing up the Mythologies!
DeleteIs Three Came Home a conversion story?
Oh my I am bad bad bad I have not even begun the book ! No Chari it is a book about a family who were imprisoned during the occupation of Borneo . Sent to different prison camps and their survival and return home . I'm sure survival had alot to do with enduring faith etc. ☺
ReplyDeleteI just picked up the unschooling book yesterday and no holds on it either so I've got it for three weeks . I'm starting it tonight .
I am still very much a lapsed catholic but feel called as I always do to journey through lent . I love lent I come out so heatly and refreshed !
I have found I was being nudged into walking with ST.IGnatius so have The Spiritual Exercies of ST. Ignatius right here beside me . I will begin on Ash Wed. I think this is a nice way to honour Fr.Pinto who died just before Christmas as he was a Jesuit before jopining S.O.L.T and I believe the formation of the Disciples of Jesus and Mary were founded on these spiritual exercies . I even began attending mass again after beginning to walk with Kateri this year . anyway , sorry getting a bit personal .
I shall try to get into the book this week .
I don't have a blog so I thought I would come here and list the books I read.
ReplyDeleteThe Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield - Fiction, very dark, almost depressing book, story of very disordered love and lives led because of it
Till We Have Faces by CS Lewis - Lewis's retelling of the Cupid and Psyche myth, very good
The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi - Fiction, teen book, kept me turning the pages through to the end
THREE CUPS OF TEA by Greg Mortenson - autobiography - This book didn't really set well with me. I don't know if I could put my finger on why though.
For March, I am starting with "Homeschooling : A Family's Journey" by Gregory and Martine Millman.
You are both in my prayers,
Michelle
