I thought I would share a before-and-after of our main home project so far this summer! This was the boys and my husband Kevin.
Kevin wanted a meadow in the front, to soften the landscape, cut down on dust in the house and make our environment just that much moister and more breathable. He wanted something that would look natural in our Sierra Mountain environment = NOT a lawn. So he researched online to find out how to grow a meadow, and bought some seeds for meadow grasses and flowers that would work in our altitude and climate.
They broke ground while I was up in Alaska in mid-June. That was nice because I think it's easier for a dad to get all his boys working hard when they are alone with him.
And it was definitely easier for me, though I was doing my own hard work, unloading dusty boxes from an Alaskan mini-storage in a one-time heat wave (in the 80's -- which is very hot in Alaska!)
