Having just finished reading Adam Bede by George Eliot and having just finished listening to Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy.........I had landed in that place that Lissa was blogging about. I needed about five days to finish processing those stories.......to let go.
When Lissa wrote those words........she was speaking for me. I kind of flounder between books....not always.....but often. Sometimes.....I get shaky. Physically shaky. She is right, it is a problem of riches. Too.many.books. still left to read.
That is why is was a relief for me to decide that a Dickens must come next. When I wrote that post, looking for help to choose which one I should read....it was totally unpremeditated. I sat down to work on a different blog post and the Dickens post landed on the keyboard. Okay. Fine. I got the inspiration.
On the same day that I identified the Dickens' inspiration, I also found my next audiobook from Librovox. The relief of these decisions was almost palable. :) I felt such a peace......somewhat giddy, even. I am so silly. Am I alone in this reading addiction??? Am I the only silly person??? Oh, wait. No. Lissa is, too. I have such good company. I love Lissa. :)

As you can see, it was a tie between Our Mutual Friend and A Tale of Two Cities. I am picking Our Mutual Friend.......because it was almost my first chocie for my first Dickens' read. Maybe I will take on A Tale of Two Cities in the fall. I have got to knock out a few of them. Can't wait.
Is anyone else inspired to read a Dickens' novel they have yet to read?

I've never read Our Mutual Friend. I'd love to hear what you think. I don't know the story at all. Somehow I think of Dickens as a winter read, though. Don't know if I can read him in summer! How's that for irrational? LOL!

The last couple of years I have read Twain in the summer. That feels right, too. :)
I will plow through Our Mutual Friend in the summer anyway. It will probably take me a long while.....I am reading it through the Kindle app on my iPhone. :)
I also do not know anything of this plot.....that will be a novelty for me. I like it!
